HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DOG LIKE A PROFESSIONAL

This website is for everyone interested in training their puppy or dog themselves at home. I designed this website to be helpful to people who love dogs as mush as I do. Training dogs is not only my profession or my hobby it is my passion.

I have included information I think will benefit you and your puppies/dogs. How to select a dog breed best suited for you and your family, Dog training techniques, solving problem with behavior and obedience training.

I learned and mastered these dog training techniques over my years of personal experience with dogs and from dog training professionals worldwide. Before we start training our dog to do something or to stop doing something,we need to know the importance of dog training.

Why is dog training so important

  • A trained dog is a much safer dog and easy to socialize with.
  • Your dog will be confident and happy.
  • It gives you a chance to understand your dog better, his natural drives and instincts.
  • Helps to correct and control the unwanted behavior of dogs with little effort.
  • It helps to build and maintain a strong owner-dog relationship.

The best dog training technique

Just as we all know there is not a single right way to do things. The same is true for training the dog. Before we start training our dog we need to understand how dogs learn. They don't understand English, they can't read books or attend lectures. They learn by experience. If the experience is good, they will try to repeat it. If the experience is unpleasant, they will try to avoid it in the future. The key to training is to make sure that whatever you want your dog to do is exceedingly rewarding and pleasurable. Whatever you don't want your dog to indulge in must never be rewarding or fun, in fact, it must be unpleasant. Though changing some behaviors can appear to happen in a relatively short period of time, none of those changes will "stick" unless the owner acts consistently with his or her dog every day to keep unwanted behaviors from returning. In my opinion, no one should ever hit or yell at a dog to correct unwanted behavior. But calmly, assertively, and consistently give their dogs rules, boundaries, and limitations  which will help  you to correct and control unwanted behavior of  your dog. The common mistake a lot of dog owners make is adding a canine member to the family and not taking the time to train their dog. Or, sometimes they expect dogs to understand things much faster than they are capable. If you're like me, you admire your dog for being a dog and you want him to behave as nothing other than a dog, but a well-behaved one.

  • Understanding a Dog's Body Language

Dogs use their entire body to communicate. Their eyes and ears are especially dynamic, and they give sure-fire clues to dogs' emotions and impulses. How dogs tilt their heads, move their legs and torsos, wag (or raise or drop) their tails -- all these things contribute to the messages being sent.

  • Interpreting Dog Barks and Noises

Dogs are probably the most "verbally" expressive of all domesticated animals, and this only adds to their charm. From the whine of a puppy to the angry growl of an adult, dogs mean what they say. The more you understand these signals, the happier you and your dog will be. At the same time, it's important to know which noises constitute an annoyance, and how to train your dog to stop making them.
